Goodwill Hunting

With another beautiful day, it's hard to stay in...especially when I know that this won't last forever. I decided that no lazy Sunday is complete without a trip to the local Goodwill in Chicago's West Loop. It really has become my favorite thrift store around here lately and is also where I found my red military style blazer that I wore as part of my Ring Leader Costume and where I bought most of my outfit that I wore to the Dress Code fashion show.

My mission today was solely to find belts since Goodwill sells them only for $.99. I have SO many dresses in my closet and belts are a great way to switch up a look. One swap of accessories and voila you have a totally different outfit. I was lucky and came out successful with a navy blue braided belt, a black belt with a funky jeweled buckle, a purple belt and a tan belt.

Since I recently counted how many dresses I own (yes it's an un-Godly number), including over a dozen that I haven't worn because they need to be altered, it was EXTREMELY difficult for me to avoid looking. In fact it was difficult for me to just focus on belts since there was so much stuff I wanted to take with me at great prices. I spotted C&C California shirts for $4.99, Splendid jersey knits for $6.99, but what really caught my attention was a Laundry sheer tunic that still had the tags on. I thought to myself, it technically isn't a dress nor is it just a shirt, but what I could use it as is a beach cover up for my trip to Mexico...and much more. I grabbed it off the rack and quickly made my way to the check out line before I was tempted to grab anything else. A whopping $12.57 later I left the store satisfied with exactly what I was looking for and a little something extra.

Sweater and shorts; H&M, Tank top: Target, Tights: Hue, Boots: Chinese Laundry, Purse: Gucci (handed down from my mom), Watch: Michael Kors, Hat: K-La (Boutique in Atlanta), Sunglasses: Work

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and here's to the start of a (hopefully) great week!

I agree, belts can totally add a fresh new look to an old dress/outfit! I'm rather obsessed with belts myself ;)

You are so rockin' that hat. Love it! Man you have so many good deals at your Goodwill. I've been a little diappointed at the one near me. I think I need to change locations.
